For Bear River boys basketball coach Casey Winters, this was a night when nothing could go right. What appeared to be a one-sided officiating game and then after halftime it seemed that the Bears never made it out of the locker room for half number two. This and much more added up to a 53-42 loss to 4A Mountain View Bruins in Salt Lake City. As cold as the shooting was for the Bears, it could be easily pinned more on the free throws, or lack thereof in the Bears case, that helped the scrappy Bruins pull away from the Bears. The free throws stat was favored for the Bruins going 24 of 36 to a Bears minute 8 of 14. Coach Winters earned his first technical of the season, and was probably considering getting his second by game’s end. The Bears will be happy to be home and face the Logan Grizzlies on Friday at 7pm.
