Tickets went so fast for the American Festival Chorus and Orchestra’s “Christmas Concert from the Ellen Eccles Theatre” that a third performance was added for Friday, December 3 at 7:30 p.m. There are two Saturday performances, one at 2 p.m. and the other at 7:30 p.m.Craig Jessop, Dean of the Caine College of the Arts at Utah State University and founder-director of the American Festival Chorus, says the concerts are designed as a Christmas card and gift to the community and to celebrate the most beloved carols and secular songs of the season.”In addition to the American Festival Chorus and Orchestra, we have with us Metropolitan Opera soprano Jennifer Babbage,” Jessop explained on KVNU’s Crosstalk show Tuesday. “Jennifer has become a popular singer with the Utah Festival Opera. “She sang the leading role in La Traviata this past summer, the soprano solos in the Verdi Requim. She is a marvelous soprano.”Jessop says the program also includes the First Presbyterian Church’s interfaith Westminister Bell Choir, the women’s choirs from Mountain Crest High School and the Full Circle Dance Company from USU.
