Proper application of pesticide being taught by USU

Local homeowners can take a free course on proper pesticide application. The free workshops are being offered to commercial and noncommercial applicators, which includes homeowners, said Larry Lewis, spokesman for the state Department of Agriculture and Food. The classes are taught by Utah State University Extension’s Pesticide Safety Education Program and the state Department of Agriculture and Food. All classes begin at 9 a.m., and each workshop offers six continuing education units to commercial applicators. The dates and places are: * Tuesday, Room 110/111, Weber State University-Davis Campus, 2750 N. University Park Blvd., Layton. * Dec. 8, Business building, lecture hall, Ogden-Weber Applied Technology College, 200 N. Washington Blvd., Ogden. * Dec. 9, conference room, Bridgerland Applied Technology College, Brigham City Campus, 325 W. 1100 South, Brigham City.
