This is International Week at Utah State University and International Student Council President Christian Orr says he hopes this year’s International Education Week will help students from unfamiliar cultures feel welcome. International students comprise seven percent of USU’s student body and Orr says the majority of the group is overlooked. He says these students not only add a great deal to USU but also to the culture of the community. There are numerous activities scheduled during the week, including Tuesday’s keynote speaker from the Utah Refugee Center at 3:30 p.m. in the USU Taggart Center auditorium. Thursday the Cultural Fair and International Fashion Show will be held where the international students can display their cultures through clothing, dance, food and other traditions. The biggest event of the week is the Miss International Pageant which has been a long-time tradition at USU.
