Church hosting Holiday Treasure Boutique

The Holiday Treasure Boutique is an event at Logan’s First Presbyterian Church to raise funds for those in need. It is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Nov. 5-6 in Bruner Hall at the church, 200 West Center Street in Logan. “This is the second year we have done this,” said Ann Egeland, “and we have artisans from Cache Valley. We have jewelry, pottery, aprons and homemade jams. “One of our specialty booths is what we call the ‘Bread of Life’ with all sorts of quick breads and yeast breads and we’re hoping people will come and fill their freezers up with fresh breads for the holiday season.” Egeland said the silent auction portion of the event has available a week’s stay at a condominium in either Park City or in Colorado. “We have tickets for various events and lots of other surprise things to keep everybody’s interest and you can bid on them. We will announce the winners at 3 p.m. on that Saturday.” Egeland said the $5000 raised a year ago was used to help over 30 families the last 12 months with utility bills, rent, heating and gasoline in the difficult economy. “Often it is a situation where a family needs just a little money until payday, that sort of thing. That is what the fund is used for,” said Egeland.
