Broadway-style show celebrates World War II-era Hollywood

“Hooray for Hollywood” is the theme and the 11th annual Celebrate America Show opens Wednesday, September 8 and runs through Saturday, September 11 at the Utah State University Taggart Student Center Ballroom. Founder and Production Director Brenda Anthony says the show is packed with music, singing and dancing that America has loved throughout the decades. The evening includes an elegant dinner, outstanding Broadway-style show and big band dancing with the Larry Smith orchestra. Anthony says this year’s show features such timeless favorites as Josie the Riveter and This is the Army Mister Jones. She says Clark Gable, Marilyn Monroe and even Shirley Temple are on hand to promote war bonds during this World War II-era show. There is an emphasis on patriotism and on Saturday, the anniversary of the 9-11 terror attacks will be acknowledged.
