Monson optimistic about countywide library system

Logan Municipal Council Chairman Jay Monson says he is optimistic about the future of a countywide library in Cache Valley. The wording has been approved for a ballot initiative and local residents will be able to vote in November on a non-binding opinion question: “Should Cache County establish a countywide library system?”Monson is a longtime supporter of such a system and he believes once people learn how it would operate and how it would be funded that people will get behind the effort. Monson says each municipality would decide whether or not to opt into the system. One card would be good for every library that becomes part of the countywide system. The ballot initiative is one of the issues to be discussed at Tuesday’s joint meeting of the Logan Municipal and Cache County councils.
