LOGAN, Utah (AP) — Utah State University is getting up to 1,000 inquiries a day on financial aid for students.The staff says it can’t handle all the calls and the phone system has crashed a few times.Steve Sharp is the director of Utah State’s financial aid office. He says he’s never seen it as busy in 17 years.Sharp says his staff is earning their paychecks – and coming in on weekends to keep up with the workload.Officials say enrollment is high, jobs are scarce and many students are curious about new federal loan rules.
