A Luau Extravaganza at the home of Daniel and Sally Russell on Saturday will launch the Cache Humane Society’s fundraising drive for a new community dog park. Tickets are $100 per person for the event which features limousine shuttle service, lei greetings, a traditional family luau, spa treatments and exciting entertainment.Michael Bishop, Executive Director at the Cache Humane Society’s animal shelter says Logan City has agreed to provide the land for the park directly behind the shelter.”The plan is that this dog part will be opened to off-leash opportunities for dog owners,” Bishop said on KVNU’s Crosstalk show. “The dogs themselves will have a small dog area, a large dog area, we plan on having an agility area there. We hope to even build in a water feature. So the park is going to be a quality Logan park just like other parks.”Saturday’s fundraiser starts at 6 p.m. For more information or to make reservations, call 760-3025.
