LOGAN, Utah (AP) — Logan officials are installing new netting around Logan River Golf Course to protect people and property from errant golf balls. Crews are putting up 65-foot-tall poles and new netting in a strategic spot where the course runs along Park Avenue. Neighbors say they’re frequently dodging golf balls from the course, and some residents have suffered injuries. Errant shots have also caused traffic accidents. Logan Risk Manager Bryce McCuen says that the extent of the city’s liability for damage and injury caused by golf balls isn’t clear, but that more netting means Logan can more effectively argue it’s taken reasonable steps to protect people and property.
