The 34th Annual Railroaders festival will be held Saturday, August 14 at Golden Spike National Historic Site. There will be cab tours of the Jupiter and 119 conducted during the day by volunteers and park personnel. Re-enactments of the Last Spike Ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Visitors can test their skill at a variety of activities including buffalo chip throwing, wood stoking, relay races, checkers, triangle tug of rope and a lot more. Other activities include the Operation Life Saver Railroad Safety Education Program, a Legos display and an 1860’s fashion show. A restored 1950’s era rail motorcar will return by popular demand.
