James: issues behind Tea Party success should be adopted by everyone

Will the Tea Party people play a prominent role in the 2010 election? Cache County Republican Party Chairman David James says he is not sure. James says, locally, the Tea Party activity seems to have dissipated since the state Republican convention when incumbent Republican U.S. Senator Bob Bennett was defeated. James says the Tea Party Coalition did not seem to have a favorite in the primary where Mike Lee defeated Tim Bridgewater.”But the overall driving issue, that of spending, limited government, state rights, things like that remain,” James says. He says that some of those issues should be adopted by everyone.”I hope from that perspective everyone and anyone, whether you, yourself are a member of a Tea Party or not, continue to be vigilant and watch and press on the officials and weigh candidates carefully.”James says he expects a lot of people, including those in the Tea Party, to become more active politically as it gets closer to November, probably after Labor Day.
