SALT LAKE CITY (AP) – The Utah Division of Air Quality has expanded its pollution forecasts to include Tooele and Box Elder counties. The division already issues three-day forecasts for ozone levels along the Wasatch Front. Ozone is formed when vehicle emissions and industrial sourcesmix with sunlight and heat. Ozone can make it difficult for people to breathe and prolonged exposure can lead to lung damage. The ozone alerts help advise residents whether to stay indoors and to limit how much they drive.
