Watts proposes cost-of-living increase with ’10-’11 budget

Logan Mayor Randy Watts presented a proposed 2010-2011 fiscal budget to members of the Logan Municipal Council Tuesday night. The mayor says his budget, much like last year, represents conservative revenue forecasts.”This budget includes a modest, but well-deserved, cost-of-living increase for Logan City employees of 1.5%,” Watts told the council. “With the ever-increasing cost of living and the absence in the increase of pay in the prior year, this cost-of-living increase represents a significant priority.” Watts says there are very few capitol projects proposed in his new budget. He says copies of the budget are available at the Logan Library or online. There will be budget workshops each Tuesday during the month of May. The first is next Tuesday, May 11 starting at 5:30 p.m.
