Utah’s Carlon Brown leaving the Utes

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) – Utah men’s basketball coach Jim Boylen says he has granted Carlon Brown’s request to be released from his scholarship. Brown was the Utes’ leading scorer last season at 12.6 points per game as Utah went 14-17. Brown said in a release yesterday that he felt his playing style and ability may be a better fit elsewhere. Brown is the third player in the last week to ask to be released. Boylen also let reserves Matt Read and Jordan Cyphers go last week.
