Bunderson school could close

The Bunderson Elementary School in Brigham City could be on the chopping block. Box Elder School Superintendent Steve Laing told the school board this week that the district has already had to furlough adminstrators, put off purchasing textbooks and materials and made cuts regarding class sizes. According to a story in the Box Elder News Journal, Laing says further cuts are going to have to be made and he feels the district has the capacity to offer education for students in four instead of five schools. The announcement brught out emotional comments from those attending the school board meeting.
