It is flu season! The Bear River Health Department would like the community to know that it is not too late to get a flu shot. The best way to prevent the flu is by getting a flu shot each year. Flu shots are still available at the Bear River Health Department. Once these shots are gone the shot will not be available through the health department until next flu season. The Health Department has discounted the flu vaccine. Flu shots are now only $11 or free with Medicaid, Medicare Part B, Medicare HMO, or Select Health. Those with the flu often complain of high fever, headache, stuffy nose, muscle aches, and sometime vomiting, nausea, and diarrhea. The flu is spread mainly from person to person through coughing or sneezing. Other ways to prevent the spread of the flu include: * Avoid close contact with people who are sick * Stay home when you are sick * Wash your hands several times a day or use a hand sanitizer. * Avoid touching your mouth, nose or eyes. For a complete listing of time please call 435-792-6500 in Logan, 435-734-0845 in Brigham, or 435-257-3318 in Tremonton or visit www.brhd.org.
