Local nonprofits get share of $310K grant

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Nine Utah nonprofit programs that provide services to the needy will get a share of a $310,000 grant from a foundation established by cable television pioneer Bill Daniels.The Daniels Fund Grant Program underwrites programs in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. The grants support programs focused on aging, alcoholism, amateur sports, disabilities, education, homelessness, substance abuse and youth development.Among the Utah agencies receiving grants are the George S. Eccles Ice Center, Canyon Creek Women’s Crisis Center, Children First Utah, Children’s Service Society of Utah, New Hope Crisis Center of Box Elder County, Odyssey House of Utah, Salt Lake City Corporation, Utah State University’s Pediatric Audiology Facility and Volunteers of America.
