Utah State University Extension Family Life Specialist Brian Higginbotham has been presented with the Early Career Achievement Award by the National Council on Family Relations. USU Associate Professor and Extension Specialist Linda Skogrand nominated Higginbotham for the award which was presented in San Francisco, California. She says Higginbotham exhibits the true spirit of Extension by conducting high-quality research and also having a passion for using this research to help people in communities. Higginbotham is the Extension’s representative for the Utah Marriage Commission and he co-authored a 44-page marriage handbook given to couples when they apply for a marriage license. While working for University Extension he has worked closely with organizations to create programs and literature designed to help those in the “under-served population,” which includes step-families.
