Art exhibit examines fast food fascination

“Single Serve Nation.” That’s the theme for USU graduate student Holly Johnson’s master thesis exhibit that opens Thursday and will remain open through February 5th at the Chase Fine Arts Center’s Fine Arts Visual Studio 102. Johnson is also presenting a lecture about her work Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Fine Art Center’s Room 150. An opening reception will precede the lecture from 5 to 7 p.m. Johnson says her work represents her concern and fascination with America’s fast, easy, to-go lifestyle with mega-sized fast food portions presented in non-biodegradable materials getting ingested on the run. Her hope is to challenge 21st century citizens to invent processes, practices and design product packaging that improve the balance between consumption and waste.
