The Utah State University College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences continues its Distinguished Alumni Lecture Series with an appearance by retired Ambassador Dr. Lynn M. Hansen who will recount his distinguished career in the military and government service.Hansen graduated from USU in 1960 where he was commander of the Arnold Air Society and a Cadet Colonel in the AFROTC. He earned a Fullbright Scholarship to Free University of Berlin and earned a masters and a doctorate in German at the University of Utah.Hansen served 23 years in the U.S. Force retiring in 1983 as a full colonel. He is the holder of the first endowed chair at the USAF Academy in Colorado Springs. His civilian life is equally impressive. Among his titles were ambassador and head of U.S. Delegation to the Geneva Conference on Disarmament and political advisor to the Commander of U.S. and NATO Air Forces in Europe. Hansen is scheduled to speak Friday, Jan. 29 at 11:30 a.m. in the Haight Alumni Center.
