Consultants for downtown a ‘perfect fit’

It took several months to make a decision but Cache Chamber of Commerce CEO Sandy Emile says the consultants chosen to map out a plan for improving downtown Logan turned out to be a perfect fit for the community.Emile says they spent some time with owners of 20 to 30 different businesses and plan to come back and get more input before long. On KVNU’s Crosstalk show Wednesday, Emile said this will be more than just a study.”The are actually giving us some tools and recommendations that our city council and our Logan Downtown Alliance can take forward and really move forward with,” Emile said. She said some of those tools include “ways to get a developer to come in and possibly bring business into our community and how to grow. What kind of businesses are a good fit for our historic downtown and still preserve the quality and essence we have downtown and yet give us additional vitality?”Emile says local businesses are doing pretty well in spite of the downturn in the economy. She says it’s more important than ever to buy locally.
