A plea for safe driving

For North Park Police Chief Kim Hawkes, the Christmas season has been marred this year by accidents, serious injuries and even one traffic fatality on Highway 91 and 2500 North. Hawkes has put out a plea for people to drive safely.”We know the roads are slick but even if they’re dry and clear please slow down, take your time,” Hawkes says. With all that is going on this holiday season, Hawkes says, it’s as important as ever to focus on the road. “Be attentive,” he urges. “Don’t let things within the vehicle or outside distract you from keeping your eyes on the road and seeing what’s going on in front of you so that you can be careful and get through the holiday season without having an accident.”Chief Hawkes says that’s his hope and wish for everyone this holiday season.
