A beloved Utah State University administrator, Carol Strong, told USU graduates Saturday to remember to thank those who enabled their educational journey and, more importantly, to remember the value in becoming a mentor themselves for another generation of achievers.Strong, who is Dean of the highly-ranked Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services,, addressed approximately one-fourth of the eligible 1,889 graduates at the final USU Fall Commencement on Saturday.Officials have cited reasons for discontinuing the ceremonies as budget, weather and low attendance. Strong told the gradates that a college degree is a gift of opportunity, one that offers far greater earning power during a lifetime than a high school diploma alone.
