Logan and Mountain Crest boys basketball teams fall in Utah County

It was a tough Friday night in Utah County for valley boys basketball teams, as both Logan and Mountain Crest lost their games. In Provo, the Grizzlies were manhandled in the first quarter, being outscored 28-4, including a 25-0 start en route to a 79-46 loss to the Bulldogs. The Grizzlies were led by Luke Faulk with 10 points while Josh Saddler had 8 and Kirby Olsen poured in 7. Ryan Durrant led Provo with 19 points. The Grizzlies fell to 1-1 on the season and next will see action on Friday, Dec. 18 against Park City. Mountain Crest fared a little better against their opponent, the Timpview Thunderbirds, but still came up on the losing end, falling 66-60. The 0-3 Mustangs were led by Matt Stewart with a game-high 26 points and Troy Pickett with 13, and the team took a one-point lead into the fourth quarter, but were outscored 20-13 in the final frame.
