The controversial issue of grade configuration at four elementary schools will be revisited at 5:30 this evening when the Cache County School Board meets in a study session. At its last meeting the board voted six to one to change the configurations of Greenville, North Park, Summit and Sunrise elementary schools to kindergarten through five. Right now, Sunrise and North Park are kindergarten through second grade schools while Summit and Greenville are for third through fifth graders. A lot of parents and teachers voiced opposition to the change and Superintendent Steve Norton also prefers the current configuration. The school board went against these recommendations and there has been significant public outcry as a result. The school district has also scheduled boundary meetings for the north elementary schools for Dec. 15 at Sunrise Elementary School and Dec. 16 at Greenville Elementary School. Both meetings are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
