LOGAN, Utah (AP) – The Utah Highway Patrol will hold an administrative traffic checkpoint on State Road 89-91 near the Dry Lake are of Sardine Canyon. The checkpoint will occur Monday afternoon and is intended to ensure vehicles traveling through the canyon are using proper tires and have required paperwork. State law requires snow tires or chains on vehicles traveling in the canyon anytime between Nov. 1 and March 31. UHP Lt. Lee Perry says drivers should expect to be stopped in the area near mile marker 12.
