A lot of seniors have been speaking out against the proposed Central Park Senior Center which would include a new senior center and approximately 200 apartments to be built on the county-owned land where the existing senior center sits. Now some of the neighbors are also speaking out. Last week the Logan Planning Commission approved a design review and conditional use permit for the center and some neighbors say they may appeal that decision. The neighbors told the Logan Municipal Council on Tuesday that it does not fit in and the 58 foot high structure wold keep their neighborhood in a perpetual shade. Councilmember Jay Monson says he agrees with the concept of the center but does not like the design, which he called a “Huge Monstrosity.” Logan City Planning Director Jay Nielsen told the council the design is being changed.
