Aquatic therapy pool to benefit community

Things have changed since Steve Tracy was at Sunshine Terrace 20 years ago as an Administrator in Training when it was strictly a non-profit long term facility. Now Tracy has been hired as Administrator of the Sunshine Terrace Foundation where it has become a full campus with rehabilitation center, assisted living, home health, fitness center and more. Tracy told the Cache County Council on Tuesday the Foundation is keeping up with technology with a new Aquatic Therapy Pool. “The aquatic pool is actually a pool that allows individuals who are not able to stand on their own,” explained Tracy. “It’s actually a treadmill under water that we’re able to do therapy in.” Tracy also said the therapy pool can benefit more than just the patrons of the Sunshine Terrace. “Utah State does have an aquatic pool that they train a lot of the athletes, but the pool is not available to the public,” Tracy said. “This will allow the therapy to the public here in Cache Valley.” Tracy says the $910,000 aquatic therapy pool is now under construction and it’s being paid for with private contributions.
