Providence Elementary burglarized Thursday night

Cache County Sheriff’s Officials are investigating a break in at Providence Elementary School from Thursday night.Sheriff’s Lt. Matt Bilodeau said more than $3,000 worth of electronic equipment, including computer displays and laptops, was reported missing following what appeared to be a forced entry into the building.”We believe this was planned,” Bilodeau said. “It was a smash and grab.”Bilodeau said a brick was thrown through a window in the school to gain entry, and then wires intended to secure the electronic equipment were cut. The equipment reportedly was taken from multiple rooms and offices in the school. The break in was reported when staff arrived at the school Friday morning at about 6:30 and sheriff’s investigators were called out to start processing evidence. Bilodeau said no one had been arrested in connection with the incident, but anyone who may have seen something between Thursday night and Friday morning was encouraged to contact law enforcement at 755-1000.
