The Utah Department of Transportation is advising motorists and recreationists that State Road 39, also known as the Monte Cristo Highway, will close to all traffic for the winter Sunday at 5 p.m. Utah Department of Transportation spokesman Vic Saunders says the road will be closed with reinforced locked gates at milepost 37, the Ant Flat Road area near Huntsville, and at milepost 56, near Woodruff.Once these gates close, the roadway will remain closed through mid-May of 2010. Saunders says the closure facilitates the winterizing of the mountain route between Weber and Rich counties.
