It was a balanced-but-lean budget presented to the Cache County Council last night by County Executive Lynn Lemon. No additional employees are included in the proposal, and in fact the proposal removes one position from the fairground budget and leaves one jail position unfunded, but it should be something the county can work with, he said.”There’s no increase in salary recommended for the employees,” Lemon told the council. “THe proposed budget does fund a 7-percent increase in the cost of medical and it also includes an increase of 2.49 percent for public safety and 1.71 percent for other employees in the retirement contribution beginning July 1, 2010.”Lemon said a major reason revenues are down is that the county is housing fewer state and federal inmates at the jail.He added that the medical plan for employees will remain largely the same as last year, with a $250 individual deductible and a $500 family deductible.
