For the second time the ratification of a new police chief is on the Logan Municipal Council agenda. On October 6th, the swearing-in of proposed new police chief Gary Jensen was postponed at the last minute. Council members said they wanted more information about a controversial YouTube video from 2007 in which Jensen appears to be relinquishing his nunchucks to another man while he was serving as the Vernal Chief of Police. Newly appointed council member Dean Quayle, who is running for a four-year term in the November 3rd election, expects Jensen to be ratified at Tuesday’s council meeting. “I find him a great person and I just regret the falderal, if you would, that came on ahead of his being ratified last time around. I think it will happen this time. I think that will be a very positive thing for the city.” On KVNU’s Crosstalk show Monday, Quayle said one reason he’s running is because no one has represented western Logan on the council for many years and it’s a rapidly growing area.
