LAS VEGAS – Utah State women’s tennis concludes action Wednesday in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada.In singles play, junior Hailey Swenson became the lone Aggie to advance from the first round, a draw of 128, after defeating Colorado’s Abbie Prober, 6-2, 6-1. Swenson advanced to the second round, the round of 64, where she fell in three sets to North Carolina’s No. 17-ranked Tabatha Knop, 7-5, 4-6, 6-4. Swenson will continue play in the consolation round Thursday against Weber State’s Brittiny Moore, at 11:00 a.m.In the singles consolation round, freshmen Sadi Wilkins, Jenny Phillips and sophomore Carla Limon fell in their first rounds, respectively. Sophomore Monica Abella, junior Taylor Perry and senior Britney Watts advance on to the second round after first round byes.USU failed to take a match in the first round of 64 in doubles play.
