Second round of H1N1 vaccine, including shots, available at Health Department

The Bear River Health Department received another shipment of H1N1 flu mist and the first shipment of H1N1 injectable vaccine (H1N1 flu shot) 2200 doses in all. This first shipment of H1N1 injectable vaccine is available for: • Children ages 6 months – 4 years old • Children with chronic health conditions • Pregnant Women Flu Mist is the trademark name for a quick nasal spray version of the H1N1 vaccine. H1N1 Flu Mist is not for everyone. This vaccine is approved and recommended for healthy people who: • are from 2-24 years of age • are from 25 – 49 years of age and: – Live with or care for infants younger than 6 months of age , or – Are health care or emergency medical personnelH1N1 Flu Mist and injectable vaccine are currently available in limited supply at the Bear River Health Department in Logan and Brigham Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. This vaccine is free in the Bear River Health District. H1N1 vaccine will continue to arrive in the coming weeks. As more is made available the health department will work closely with local partners to provide the vaccine throughout the community to those who are at highest risk for getting H1N1. The department encourages everyone to continue to wash your hands, cover your cough, and stay home when you are sick.
