Utah State women’s tennis resumes fall play, hosting the Utah State Open beginning Thursday, Oct. 8 through Saturday, Oct. 10. The competition will be held at the USU Outdoor Tennis Courts, weather permitting, between Weber State, Idaho State and Utah State.The three-day tournament kicks off at 1:30 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 8 with three eight-player flights in singles play with a consolation round and a doubles flight of six teams. Friday play begins at 12:30 p.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m. All three days of action will be held at the USU Outdoor Tennis Courts. In case of inclement weather, play will continue at the Logan Sports Academy and Racquet Club.Most recently competed in the BYU Invitational Sept. 17-19, in Provo, Utah. Lone Senior Britney Watts led USU, advancing to the finals in the Silver Bracket where she defeated Weber State’s Brittiny Moore, 6-1, 6-1. Watts was the only Aggie to advance on to the final day of play.Utah State will continue to host competition Friday, Oct. 9 and Saturday, Oct. 10. Admission to the USU Outdoor Tennis Courts is open and free to the public.
