LOGAN, Utah (AP) – Cache County sheriff’s deputies say they foiled an escape by a jail inmate found with a set of homemade handcuff keys and a lock pick inside his shoes. Authorities say 52-year-old Douglas Francom was planning to escape while being transported by van from Logan to federal court in Salt Lake City. U.S. Marshals also arrested three alleged accomplices.
