Saturday is “Ag Day” at Utah State University and the 15th Annual Utah Agricultural Products Barbecue will precede the football match-up later that day between the Aggies and the Southern Utah University Thunderbirds in USU’s Romney Stadium.Richard Sparks, of the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food, says the 2009 Agriculture Products Barbecue will be served from 3 to 5 p.m. on the practice field west of the Stan Laub Center. Sparks says all the food is Utah-produced. “I think all your basic food is available,” Sparks says. Some of the products will even have a local flair. “In our Utah’s Own booth this year we’ll be handing out desert and that’s Creamies right there from Logan.”Sparks also says there will be plenty of variety and some unique items to choose from. “There’ll be potatoes, there’ll be beef, lamb. In year’s past, and I don’t know about this year, in year’s past we’ve had real nice deep fried onions and that sort of thing, more exotic foods.”He says the price is just $8 per person for adults and $5 for children 11 and under.
