USU Homecoming week festivities

This is Homecoming Week at Utah State University and there are a lot of activities planned throughout the week to celebrate. Members of various clubs and organizaions will be out painting the street on 700 North tonight. There’s also a so-called Pudding Dance at 9 p.m. tonight on the HPER Field.Local band Battle School and Musical Charis, out of California, play Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Amphitheater and there’s a pillow fight on the quad Wednesday at 12 noon. One of most popular Homecoming events comes Wednesday at 7 p.m. with the Mr. USU Contest in the Kent Concert Hall.Thursday features the Convocation featuring Homecoming Grand Marshal Eric Hipple, former Aggie and NFL quarterback and author of the book “Real Men Do Cry”. The Convocation takes place in the Taggart Student Center ballroom at 12 noon.There’s powder puff football Thursday afternoon at 2:30 on the Quad. The Homecoming Banquet and Reception starts Friday night at 5:30, Homecoming Dance starts at 8 p.m. and that’s followed by the traditional “True Aggie Night” at the ‘A.’ Saturday’s events include the Homecoming Parade, which starts at 10 a.m. down Logan’s Main Street from 100 South to 700 North, public tours of the new Hall of Honor in the Jim and Carol Laub Athletics-Academics complex, and the Ag Day Barbeque from 3 to 5 p.m. on the practice field east of Romney Stadium.At 6 p.m. the Utah State football team takes on Southern Utah University in Romney Stadium.
