Man arrested on suspicion of fraudulent fundraising

A 49-year-old Provo man is in the Cache County Jail on suspicion of fraudulently soliciting for a charity.Robert Earl Pittman was booked in jail after he reportedly went door-to-door seeking donations in Logan Tuesday. Some residents reportedly became suspicious and contacted police, although Pittman was able to get about $100 in donations, according to police reports.Pittman reportedly was seeking donations saying he was with Habitat for Humanity and the donations would go to help Hurricane Katrina victims. There were reports from other states of a similar event taking place, and police investigators are reportedly looking to see if Pittman is the man connected with those other incidents.
