Logan City Primary results

The results are in for the primary election that took place Tuesday in Logan. With two council seats up for grabs and seven challengers, four will advance to the general election. Siimlarly with the race for mayor in Logan City, incumbent Randy Watts faces three challengers. That field of four candidates will be narrowed to two before the general election on November 3.Watts will have the opportunity to further his campaign after receiving the most votes in the primary (1094) and he will be challenged by Mike Morrill (880). Mark Haws (233) and John P. Clay (120) do not advance.For municipal council, with all precincts reporting, Dean Quayle received the most votes (1293) followed closely by Holly Daines (1239). Quayle is somewhat of an incumbent after he was selected to fill the seat vacated by Steve Thompson after Thompson became a special fundraiser for Logan City.The other candidates receiving the most votes include Tony Wegener (891) and Steven G. Stokes (509). Those top four candidates will advance to the general election.The candidates that will not be advancing for the municipal council are Chad Tilley (327), Brandon Brown (94) and Robert Horning (65).
