Andrea “Celina” Roye, age 18, of Henderson passed away from this world in August of 2009 in Cache National Forest. The daughter of Janice and Dean Roye was born on July 17th, 1991 in Las Vegas, living in Henderson the past fifteen years and spent her years in the valley devoted to the study of animals and nature.Celina volunteered for two years at a local pet store, familiarizing herself with various animals, both exotic and domestic. She later went on to attended Green Valley High School while privately founding an animal rescue operation and provided sanctuary for many of our unfortunate furry and some hairless friends. Many of God’s little creatures experienced Andrea Celina’s loving kindness, several varieties of domestic rats, cats, ferrets, birds, and dogs to name a few. Celina went by the alias “Nebula” when adopting out pets on her website She was enthusiastic about learning the behavior of wild animals and always tried to keep them true to their habitats. Andrea was a member of Girl Scouts at the Daisy level. Loving the outdoors and animals, Celina took her dog for many hikes to Mt. Charleston and the Red Rock Canyons. She loved the cool mountain air and snow. Celina took video of her dogs running in the snow on the Mountain in Las Vegas and pictures of her ferrets leaping in the snow in Maine. Celina enjoyed taking pictures of animals and nature. As a special remembrance in Tuscany, Italy on an Olive Orchard Farm in April of 2006 Celina had a life changing experience that brought her spirit to higher levels of beauty and color. Andrea Celina also had a great love for horses. At age 17 she finally got the opportunity to have professional riding lessons. Everyone who knew Celina was touched by her free spirit and passion for life as she flourished in to young adulthood and the beautiful soul that she was.In addition to her mother and father, Andrea (as she was known to her immediate family and close relatives) is also survived by two brothers, William Bender and Christopher Roye, her sister Amy and her husband Allen Bauer, along with their children Karrina and Kaileb, and many family members residing in the state of Maine, a place dear to her heart for her many visits to the region. Andrea Celina will be remembered by many extended relatives and friends throughout the United States, Italy, and Japan. Although Celina had a special affinity for wolves, she wished to keep all her fellow creatures protected. So instead of flowers, please offer any donations in Andrea Celina’s name to “Defenders of Wildlife” or any of the many animal rescue organizations in an effort to keep her love of life branching out in all of us. May her spirit and influence reach to the ends of this world and beyond, fulfilling her aspirations and resting her soul.Andrea Celina you will always be a beautiful and amazingly wonderful young lady, full in my heart and I will love you forever knowing we will be together again one day. Your loving Mother.Services will be held on Saturday September 19, 2009 at 10 am at Central Christian Church, 1001 New Beginnings Dr., Henderson, NV 89011.
