A 12-year old Logan boy was hit by a car this morning just before 8 a.m. while walking to school. Lt. Rod Peterson says the boy was walking north along 100 East and approaching the intersection at 700 North. He reportedly entered the roadway and was struck by a vehicle driven by 51-year old Salome Lopez Samanieg. Peterson says the boy sustained minor injuries and was taken to Logan Regional Hospital where he was treated and released. He says Samanieg says he didn’t see the boy because the sun was in his eyes. Samanieg was cited for failure to give due care to a pedestrian while operating a motor vehicle.
