Real Salt Lake to host Mexican club

SANDY, Utah (AP) — Real Salt Lake will host Mexican club Chivas de Guadalajara in an exhibition game this fall.The 11-time Mexican champions will visit Rio Tinto Stadium on Oct. 7 during a long break in RSL’s Major League Soccer schedule. Salt Lake had no games between Sept. 26 at Dallas and hosting New York on Oct. 14.Chivas Guadalajara is the parent club to Chivas USA, which joined MLS along with Real Salt Lake in 2005.The game will be the third international event at the new stadium this season. Rio Tinto hosted the Major League All-Star Game on July 29 and will be the site of a World Cup qualifier between El Salvador and the U.S.
