Concerned residents foiled two potential auto burglaries in the neighborhood of 970 W. 500 South in Logan Sunday morning. Logan Police Lt. Rod Peterson says the residents saw 24-year old Clinton R. Long of Smithfield, with a 17-year old counterpart, in an automobile that wasn’t theirs. Police were called and found Long and the juvenile a short time later. The men had items in their possession that were allegedly from two automobiles in the area. Police notified possible victims in the area and searched a car where they found Long’s cell phone he’d misplaced. Long and the juvenile were taken and interviewed at the police department. Long was later charged with intoxication and burglary of a vehicle and also charged with lewdness and destruction of jail property for urinating while in the interviewing room.
