Man threatens police with four foot pipe

Logan Police responded to a domestic dispute just after midnight Sunday in the neighborhood of 500 N. 100 West. Police Lt. Rod Peterson says when officers arrived a woman was standing in the roadway and warned police about the man inside the residence. Shortly after, 31-year old David D. Hunsaker came out of the house wielding a four-foot piece of pipe. Peterson says Hunsaker was very belligerent and challenged police to come and get him. Officers told him to put the pipe down but he reportedly continued swinging it back and forth and threatening police. Peterson says more officers arrived. A Taser was activated and an officer pointed a laser at Hunsaker’s chest indicating where the taser would fire. He was again told to put the pipe down, to which he immediately complied and was taken into custody. Hunsaker was charged with aggravated assault and intoxication. Peterson says this is an instance where a taser potentially save Hunsaker’s life and helped police calm a dangerous situation.
