Crews delay their search for drowning victim at Tony Grove Lake

There are reports of a drowning at Tony Grove Lake up Logan Canyon. A call came in just before 4 p.m. that someone had gone under the water and not come back up. The caller drove to the summit of Logan Canyon in order to get cell service to make the call.According to emergency radio traffic, the person who drowned is described as a 20-year old male who has been underwater since approximately 3:40 and his body has not been recovered yet.Search and Rescue dive teams were dispatched to the scene to recover the body. Early responders used snorkels to try to locate the body but were unable to because of the water’s depth. The body has yet to be recovered. Crews had to suspend their search tonight because of darkness and will resume their search Thursday morning. As a result of the ongoing search, Tony Grove Lake will be closed to recreationalists.
