Wegener would not have supported park strip project

Logan Municipal Council candidate Tony Wegener says, unfortunately, government sometimes steps on people’s toes and, if elected, he will work to see that that doesn’t happen. One example he sites is the park strip issue, one he never would have supported. On KVNU’s Crosstalk show, Wegener said many of the people affected had been told to use the park strips to accommodate USU students”And to do it the way they did I think at best was unfortunate,” Wegener said. “Had I been there I would have said something like, ‘well look if you don’t want people to do that, draw a line in the sand and say no more. And if you truly want to reclaim the neighborhood tell people who own houses that are being used as accommodations for students that they can only sell them in the future if it’s going to revert to a single family home.'”Wegener says the money spent on the park strip project could have been spent on much-needed curb and gutter and sidewalks instead.
