Logan Library to begin takeover of old City Hall

Logan’s City Hall has moved into its new home in what was previously known as the Justice Building and the Logan Municipal Council will hold its first meeting in that building on Aug. 18.That means the Logan Library will have use of the whole building it has shared with the city and Library Director Ron Jenkins said he is pleased about that. He said work has already started as some of the library’s functions are shifted to the north part of the building. The area that has been used as the council chambers will become a reading room and Jenkins said a large meeting room will be created in the northeast part of the building.”All of the area where my office is located and most of the library staff are currently located,” Jenkins said. “We’re moving to the north side of the building and we’re going to open up all of this area … to expand the children’s area to probably double than it currently is.”Another city entity that had to move as part of the transition, the Logan Justice Court, has already moved to the old Department of Workforce Services building on 100 West.
