Logan City Pioneer Day celebration

Logan’s Pioneer Day Celebration has something for every age and everyinerest. That word comes from Deb Harvey of Logan City’s parks andrecreation department which is sponsoring the Friday event at WillowPark, located at 500 West 700 South. Activities start early with the annual Lions Club pancake breakfast served from 7 to 10 a.m. A noncompetitive fun run begins at 7:30 and Harvey says there are a lot of sports activities throughout the day. “We have 3 on 3 soccer,” Harvey explained on a recent KVNU Crosstalk show. “We have a home run derby, 3 on 3 soccer registration at 12:30, and that begins at 1, and the home run derby at 2. There’s food, there’s crafts there’s entertainment, there’s the parade. Lots of reasons to come and hang out at Willow Park.” The annual Pioneer Day Parade starts at noon and heads west from 100 West down Center Street and then south to Willow Park.Harvey says there is a lot of great entertainment including The FullerBoys, Wasatch Back and Peter Breinholt. Other events include candy cannon, watermelon eating contest, high stakes Bingo and a youth rodeo.
